In early 1999 DFID commissioned an online (website) and later, an
offline (CD) manual on best practice for the economist network.
In particular the manual was to draw out the role of the economist
in the multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate where economic skills
and approaches would add value. The challenge was to design a product
which was intuitive and allowed easy navigation to all parts of the
various chapters and which provided for easy in-house expansion. Emerging
Market Economics Ltd. were responsible for economist information input
and GHSI for the IT aspects, including the design, creation and integration
of the site and CD. To date the Communications Group.com has completed
nine projects for DFID and continues to provide a supporting role
on this project.
